Por aellos a\u00f1os comparti\u00f3 escenarios con Michael Caine.<\/p>\n<p>Su primer gran papel en el cine le vali\u00f3 una nominaci\u00f3n al Oscar como mejor actor secundario, con el film \u2018Billy Budd\u2019 (1962).<\/p>\n<p>Pudo haber sido heredero de Sean Connery en la saga de James Bond, pero no logro convencer a los productores.
